The index, which combines research on various capabilities with a survey of 2,000 British adults, highlights Argos' sophisticated shopping operation, offering features like same-day delivery and British Sign Language (BSL) as a customer service option. However, the ranking also reveals a mismatch between consumer expectations and what brands can realistically deliver, with free online returns being the most in-demand feature. The survey also found that generative AI features are not a priority for shoppers, with only a small percentage considering chatbots important for grocery shopping.
